The 422 Series is an adjustable, high-performance coil-over shock system that mounts directly to the swingarm, replacing the entire stock suspension assembly (shocks, frame mount, and linkage).
Key Features
Ride-Height Adjustability: This is the defining feature of the 422 Series. They offer up to 2 inches of lowering compared to the stock ride height. The adjustability is done via a cam or threaded body (depending on the exact model/year), allowing you to customize the rear height from stock down to a slammed position.
Improved Damping: Unlike the basic stock shocks, the 422s use a high-pressure gas-charged monotube design. This provides consistent, fade-resistant damping and much better control than the stock setup, translating to a smoother, more stable ride.
Progressive Wound Springs: The springs are designed to be soft initially for a plush ride over small bumps and rapidly increase resistance deeper into the travel, effectively resisting bottoming out.
Adjustable Preload: Preload is easily adjusted to compensate for riding solo, riding two-up, or carrying luggage, ensuring the shocks operate in their optimal range.
