The Barnett Scorpion Clutch is a precision-engineered masterpiece designed for the 2018–2026 Harley-Davidson Softail and Touring lineup. While the Milwaukee-Eight engine delivers impressive factory torque, performance enthusiasts quickly find the limits of the stock “Assist & Slip” clutch. The Scorpion system provides a complete internal overhaul, replacing cast components with 6061-T6 billet aluminum and heavy-duty steel to ensure 100% of your M8’s power reaches the pavement without a hint of slip.
Massive Friction Surface Area
The M8 Scorpion kit features a high-capacity stack of Carbon Fiber friction plates and tempered steel drive plates. This configuration provides more than double the friction surface area compared to the OEM unit. This increased area allows for a much more efficient transfer of torque and superior heat dissipation, making it the ideal choice for heavy touring bikes, performance baggers, and high-horsepower Softail builds.
Customizable Lever Feel with Six-Spring Technology
Unlike the stock clutch, which uses a single diaphragm spring, the Scorpion utilizes six heavy-duty coil springs. Barnett includes three different sets of color-coded springs with each kit, allowing you to “tune” the clutch to your engine’s output and your personal preference:
- Light Springs: Perfect for stock or Stage I engines, offering a smooth, easy pull.
- Medium Springs: The standard for Stage II and III cam-and-exhaust builds.
- Heavy Springs: Maximum clamping force for Stage IV big-bore kits, turbos, or superchargers.

Every Scorpion pressure plate is CNC-machined to exact tolerances. This provides a perfectly flat and stable surface that will not warp or flex under high heat or extreme pressure.
