Ride with Precision Sound: Kuryakyn Road Thunder Speaker Pods by MTX

For riders who want high-fidelity audio without sacrificing the clean look of their handlebars, the Kuryakyn Road Thunder Speaker Pods by MTX are the ultimate choice. This system separates the speakers from the controller, allowing for a low-profile installation that packs a surprising punch. Engineered by MTX Audio, these pods are designed specifically to overcome wind and engine noise while maintaining a small, “custom-bike” footprint.

Punchy MTX Performance

Each 3-inch pod houses a high-performance, full-range speaker capable of handling 100 Watts of peak power. The internal amplifier is optimized for the motorcycle environment, focusing on clear high-end and vocal frequencies that cut through the air at highway speeds. The pods are constructed from high-impact ABS and finished in Chrome or Satin Black to match your bike’s aesthetic.

Total Control with Bluetooth Connectivity

This kit includes the Road Thunder Bluetooth Audio Controller, a weather-resistant hub that allows you to wirelessly stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device. The controller features oversized, glove-friendly buttons, allowing you to play/pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume without reaching for your phone. It can be mounted to any handlebar or even flush-mounted into a dash for a completely integrated look.

Rugged and Weatherproof

Both the speaker pods and the Bluetooth controller are built to survive the elements. With an IP66 rating, the system is fully protected against heavy rain, dust, and high-pressure water spray. Whether you’re riding through a summer storm or washing the bike after a long tour, your audio system is built to last. The internal “Auto-Turn On” circuitry helps manage battery life by powering down when the Bluetooth signal is lost.

Universal Fitment & Installation

The Road Thunder Speaker Pods feature a versatile mounting system that fits nearly any motorcycle on the market. The included clamps are compatible with:

• Standard Handlebars: 7/8″ and 1″ bars.
• Fat Bars: 1-1/4″ bars.
• Versatile Mounting: Ideal for Harley-Davidson Sportsters, Softails, Dynas, and metric cruisers like the Honda Rebel or Yamaha Bolt.

Technical Specifications

The system operates on a standard 12V DC power source and includes a 3.5mm auxiliary input for non-Bluetooth devices. It also features a 3.5mm auxiliary output, allowing you to connect these pods to an existing sound bar or external amplifier to expand your audio system as your bike grows.
