Barnett offers two industry-leading friction compounds to suit your riding style:

• Kevlar (Aramid): The gold standard for longevity. These plates feature a high-density compound that offers twice the life of stock organic plates and a smooth, progressive engagement—perfect for daily riders and long-distance tourers.
• Carbon Fiber: Built for high-heat environments. Carbon fiber has an incredibly high tolerance for thermal stress, making it the ideal choice for high-horsepower builds, track use, or heavy-duty towing where clutch “glazing” is a risk.

The Extra Plate Advantage

For maximum performance, the Extra Plate Kit (304-30-10020) re-engineers the clutch stack. By utilizing thinner, high-strength tempered steel drive plates, Barnett fits an additional friction and steel plate into the stock basket. This modification results in an 11% increase in total surface area, allowing the clutch to hold significantly more torque without the need for an impossibly stiff pressure plate spring.

Precision Engineering & Heavy-Duty Springs

Every Barnett kit is pre-measured for the correct stack height to ensure a “drop-in” installation with no machining required. The kits include three heavy-duty coil springs (for models with Assist & Slip clutches) or a diaphragm spring (depending on the specific part number) to provide increased pressure. The steel drive plates undergo a proprietary vibratory deburring process to ensure they are perfectly flat, which eliminates clutch drag and makes finding neutral effortless.
